DRDO scientists to get training at Indian School of Mines

A batch of 18 scientists from Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) will come here on January 15 for training at Indian School of Mines.

A K Mishra, professor of mining department at ISM, said on Sunday ISM and the DRDO had entered into an agreement for facilitating training of scientists. “The DRDO men will be trained in tunneling in mountains and underground for three weeks. They will be trained in blasting and drilling technology.”

This is for the first time DRDO scientists will be trained in ISM here. The mining department in ISM will be developed into a centre of excellence in explosive testing technology, Mishra said.
