IAF team searches for Jaguar”s blackbox


An IAF team helped by locals today searched for the blackbox of the Jaguar fighter aircraft that crashed in Dilahi Firozpur village, killing a pilot and a girl.
70 IAF personnel arrived here from Gorakhpur to look for the blackbox of the plane whose debris was scattered in a radius of about a kilometre across agricultural fields which have a standing crop and are inundated with rain water.

The IAF personnel also brought a dummy blackbox to show to the locals to help them locate the original device that would help in investigations into the cause of yesterday”s crash.

“So far they have not been able to find the black box and the search is continuing,” officials said.

Meanwhile, Additional District Magistrate Rakesh said the administration has written to the government and the IAF for providing compensation for the loss of life and damage to crop due to the crash.

The plane had crashed in an agricultural field killing the pilot, S. Pandey, and a local girl Ruma and injuring two others.
